The school focuses on future-ready learning, preparing students for tomorrow’s jobs. It also fosters wellbeing and holistic development, ensuring success beyond academics. Additionally, SRI promotes collaboration and leadership, shaping students into confident changemakers.
What is School of Research and Innovation?
Opening in August 2025, SRI is a new, advanced school that combines values-led education with technology and innovation.
Built on 65 years of exceptional expertise in education, it is designed to give students the skills, confidence, and knowledge to succeed in a changing world.
What makes SRI different from other schools?
SRI is our most advanced school yet, offering a unique mix of academic excellence, real-world technology, and a strong sense of community.
The school will offer a future-focused extended British curriculum with AI, robotics, esports, and sustainability building on the core academic studies. Its campus is purposely designed for collaboration, creativity, and innovation. And with a Family First approach, parents will be closely involved in their child’s education.
What facilities will the school have?
SRI has been designed with innovation, sustainability, and student success in mind. Its key features include an Olympic-sized swimming pool, a FIFA-standard football pitch, a 400m running track, a 600-seat auditorium for performances and fully equipped music, drama, and visual arts spaces.
Who will be teaching at SRI?
We are hand-picking the best educators from around the world, ensuring students learn from teachers who bring both expertise and passion.
Our teachers will receive ongoing professional development, including training in AI-driven learning and emerging education technologies, to deliver a world-class experience.
How will the school compete in sports against other established schools?
SRI will have a range of ability-based squads, ensuring that all students, regardless of their level in athletics, have opportunities to develop.
Through our network, our students will have access to top tournaments. GEMS students have already competed at The Sevens and the World School Games in London and Spain, and we will continue to offer these opportunities as SRI grows.
What music and performing arts partnerships does the school have?
We are working with leading global partners in music and performing arts, including Steinway and West End Stage.
More exciting partnerships will be announced soon. GEMS students will also be the first school group to perform at Dubai Opera this year.

Students will be placed in groups based on their level of experience. Where this is not possible, we will offer personalised support to ensure that every child is challenged appropriately. This model has been successfully used in our top GEMS schools with strong results.
Will students have leadership and mentorship opportunities?
Absolutely. Older students will mentor younger students, guiding them in academics, sports, and wellbeing. Through the Tomorrow’s Genius approach and Pioneer Curriculum, they will develop leadership skills and become role models across the school.
